As a highly qualified health professional, he expertly employs a wide range of complimentary therapies and techniques to identify and treat the underlying cause of your condition and restore and improve health.
As the Medical Director of Integrated Health Solutions, it’s his unique vision for improving health — based on only the best ancient Eastern remedies, clinically tested and scientifically proven by the most credible and up-to-date scientific Western research — that informs, guides and leads all of the highly trained health experts on the Integrated Health Solutions team.
An experienced and highly schooled medical leader, Dr. Harb combines many years of professional education, daily clinical practice and experience, and ongoing professional development and certified training. He’s used his extensive expertise to put together one of Indianapolis’ best teams of trained health experts to help him develop comprehensive health solutions tailored to each of our patient’s individual needs.
His core belief, shared by all the experts on his team, is that each patient who walks through the doors of Integrated Health Solutions is a person, not just a medical record or chart. That’s why Dr. Harb, known affectionately to his patients as Dr. Charbel, makes sure that both he and every expert on his staff gets to know each patient as a person. This caring and compassionate core belief recognizes that every patient has his or her own unique needs — which is why he and his experts find and develop custom created health and wellness treatment plans that are ultra-specific to each person.
To do this, he practices a wide array of modalities to develop integrative and truly comprehensive solutions that combine evidence-based diagnostic testing with the many complementary holistic approaches — each of which he is expertly trained and certified in — to reduce pain, improve joint mobility and tissue extensibility and restore better health. His many years of professional training, research and experience allow him to combine conventional medicine and state-of-the-art science with acupuncture, chiropractic techniques, soft-tissue therapy, stress-reduction strategies, massage and nutrition to combat health problems and help you and the ones you love fully embrace life once more.
A highly qualified, professionally trained chiropractor, with degrees in chiropractic and human biology, Dr. Harb uses a wide range of pain relieving and mobility improving procedures to offer exceptional chiropractic care which includes the Active Release Technique and Graston. He also stays on top of ultra-modern chiropractic and related techniques, always looking to offer his patients the most up-to-date scientific wellness solutions. He actively continues his education in a wide range of related sciences, most recently training and becoming certified in SFMA — Selective Functional Movement Assessment. SFMA, a great new approach to diagnosing patients and treating pain, uses a standardized clinical model to isolate the cause of injury. The breakthrough assessment uses a series of seven movement tests to reveal — to the trained clinical eye — seemingly unrelated impairments that contribute to pain or reduced mobility.
Dr. Harb is also an active member of the American Chiropractic Association, the largest and most recognized organization for chiropractic doctors. In order to be a professional member, the organization requires each chiropractor to adhere to the highest ethics and practice only the greatest standards in patient care.
In addition, Dr. Harb is one of the top experts practicing acupuncture in Indianapolis, and is also certified — and specializes — in related cutting-edge techniques such as Dry Needling, which uses superfine needles, similar to those used in acupuncture, to pinpoint and treat specific points of pain, often buried deep within muscles, allowing ultra deep tissue healing and rejuvenation. He gained unparalleled schooling in the ground-breaking therapy by studying under one of the world’s foremost experts on the technique: Dr. Yun-tao Ma, a visiting Professor with the Medical Faculty for Orsay University in Paris. Dr. Ma has tested, developed and proven his own evidence-based Integrative Dry Needling System, and has presented it to medical peers all over the world, to great acclaim and success. He’s since published several industry-leading books on the subject too.
A dedicated and compassionate wellness professional, Dr. Harb puts the interests and specific needs of each patient first, and combines both tried-and-tested and state-of-the-art techniques to create unique solutions to reduce pain and restore functionality and good health. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, management and human resources from the University of Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Logan University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Logan College’s Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) Degree Program. He has been an active member of the Motion Palpation Institute since 2006.
His greatest pleasure is bringing joy to his patients and helping them to fully embrace life, allowing them to enjoy each day: active, healthy and pain free. During the rare times when he’s not helping patients in his clinic, he practices what he preaches and enjoys being physically active; playing racquetball, pursuing fitness activities and cooking healthy meals and dishes. What is a chiropractic adjustment?
An adjustment is a treatment administered by a chiropractor to treat musculoskeletal symptoms such as neck pain, back pain, headaches, shoulder pain, hip pain, and other conditions. Adjustments involve carefully applying light pressure to specific joint locations of the spine or extremities in order to restore joint centralization and normalize biomechanical movement of the joint.
Once I start chiropractic treatment, do I have to go forever?
No. At Integrated Health Solutions we strive to address the root cause of pain, not just the symptoms. Depending on your condition, we will work with you to determine a treatment plan that yields maximumresults in the shortest amount of time possible.
What techniques do the doctors at Integrated Health Solutions use?
At Integrated Health Solutions we seek to administer the most effective combination of treatment methods including acupuncture, rehabilitative exercises, soft tissues therapies (ART, Graston, PIR), Diversified Adjusting Technique, along with nutritional and dietary planning.
Can children be helped with chiropractic treatment?
Oftentimes, chiropractic treatment is beneficial for children/infants as well as adults. In fact, children typically respond to treatment even faster than adults. At Integrated Health Solutions, we are happy to treat children over the age of 8.
How do I know when I have completed my treatment?
At Integrated Health Solutions, we will work with you to determine a roadmap to success with activity and performance goals to be reached. When an injury or condition arises, pain is the last symptom to appear and the first symptom to go away. Thus, while each session will be accompanied by pain relief, this alone does not mean that the root condition has been relieved. Thus, follow-up visits may be necessary to ensure that the injury or dysfunction is completely addressed in order to prevent future pain.
Should an adjustment ever hurt?
Typically chiropractic adjustments are painless; in fact, adjustments generally bring immediate pain relief to a patient. If a patient has recently been injured, for instance in a car accident, slight discomfort may accompany the adjustment. Because of this, we seek to administer integrative treatment plans such as chiropractic care combined with soft tissue therapy in order to address all sources of pain.
Are all chiropractors the same?
Absolutely not. While many chiropractors specialize in one treatment type, at Integrated Health Solutions we are certified to administer a combination of techniques such as acupuncture, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitative exercises, as well as chiropractic care to maximize the results of your visits. Research has shown that integrating treatment techniques not only yields the fastest results, but also produces longer lasting solutions to most musculoskeletal conditions. Furthermore, we use an evidence-based approach to treatment in order to alleviate the root cause of a condition, not just the symptom.
